7.6 billion tokens.
That’s the #1 spot on Clawdboard, the global leaderboard for Claude Code usage. That's just as of March 12th, barely ten weeks into 2026.
Does that board track Codex? Gemini? The millions of tokens pumping through my OpenClaw instance via OpenRouter? Nope. If you asked the guy at the top of the leader what his actual combined API burn rate is for the year, he probably wouldn't even know.
Because that guy is me. And i have no idea.
If you're wondering how we got here: back in January 2023, I posted on LinkedIn that I was keen to get my hands on some AI projects. My network mostly geologists and drillers from my CorePlan days scrolled right past it. Perth was still hungover from the crypto craze, and absolutely no one even from the tech ecosystem slid into my DMs with their ideas or projects.
Tbh, the lack of engagement was a relief. Reading the post back, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had absolutely no business talking about AI in public.
Who was I to talk about this stuff? I don't have a computer science degree. I don't have a GitHub profile worth showing anyone. I'm not a developer.
So naturally, I just boop — deleted it.
Three years and 7.6 billion tokens later, I think it's time to un-delete it.
